Liesel Bocalan-Lim

Lab Manager

Liesel (she/her, they/them) is a social action writer and spoken word poet, mainly focusing her narratives on intersectionality and its ties to the experiences of POC. As a Bay Area native and first-gen Filipinx American, she sees it as not only her duty, but an honor to be able to tell the stories of the communities who gave her refuge and continue to inspire her today. Over the past 8 years she has utilized her somewhat unhealthy obsessions with The Sims and time-management games to provide program and operational support for various nonprofits and mission driven organizations- from supporting queer houseless youth in the Central Coast to teaching university level writing courses to migrant parents back in the Bay. It is her hope that through her art and equally fierce organizational skills, she will be able to continually push the dial towards equity and justice.
